I saw this tool in use by the (very talented) Mark Hatcher on the AGF forum (custom shop section) and thought to myself – ‘wow! I need one of those.’ It’s such a simple thing but it makes such a difference. Everyone should have one.

Start by marking the numbers 1-20 out on a piece of scrap wood that has been squared up; then drill a hole of appropriate size beneath each number.

And here we go – so basic! It holds the numbered frets so you don’t need to worry about organizing them according to length on the table when you are installing frets.

Works beautifully 🙂
